About Cinnamon Garden

Cinnamon Garden Restaurant is one of those places I like to introduce to friends when they ask where to find real Sri Lankan food around Yamato, and it sits quietly at 2 Chome-22-19 Rinkan, Yamato, Kanagawa 242-0003, Japan, waiting to surprise you. From the moment you step in, the aroma of spices tells you this is not a generic curry stop but a Sri Lankan restaurant that takes its roots seriously while still feeling relaxed and welcoming. I usually describe Cinnamon Garden as casual but confident, the kind of spot where you can drop in for a quick takeaway after work or settle in for a long, comfortable dine-in experience with friends. The menu leans into bold Sri Lankan flavors, layered with cinnamon, curry leaves, and slow-cooked sauces, and there are plenty of vegetarian options that don’t feel like an afterthought. Drinks are very much part of the experience too, so whether you’re in the mood for a cold beer, a simple cocktail, or a glass of wine, everything fits naturally with the food, and happy-hour drinks make it even easier to relax. I also like that Cinnamon Garden offers delivery, which makes it simple to bring those deep, warming flavors home without losing the character of the dishes. Coffee is available if you want something mellow after your meal, while spirits and cocktails suit evenings when you’re treating it more like a laid-back hangout than just dinner. The location in Rinkan makes it easy to reach, and the space feels approachable whether you’re popping in solo or coming with a group. When I introduce Cinnamon Garden, I usually frame it as a neighborhood spot that feels friendly from the first visit, with attentive service that doesn’t hover and an atmosphere that works for casual lunches or easygoing evenings that naturally roll on.

This was our first time trying Sri Lankan food, and it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious, including the dessert. Service was very friendly and the place was super cozy on a chilly night. So happy this place is in my neighborhood because we definitely plan to come back! Oh and do yourself a favor and try the Lion Beer

The gentlemen were so courteous and customer centric. Their food was even better. It wasn't overseasoned and definitely wasn't salty. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try Sri Lankan food in Japan. It was my wife's birthday and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Did I mention the ambiance? Everything was on point!

I had to travel half way around the world to enjoy one of the best Sri Lankan meals I've ever had. No other Sri Lankan resturant I've been to had cooked such delicious meals. Also A+ for the interior and plating. Hope I can come back one day again and experience what this restaurant has to offer.

I ordered Sri Lankan omelette, combo curry plate, watalappam dessert with a Sri Lankan Lion beer. Great food for a decent price. Reasonably spicy though I could do with hotter. You can most likely request your curry to be hotter. The omelette was delicious with great seasoning and flavors from all it's ingredients. It was moderately spicy which is a bonus. The combo plate was a very fresh flavor with all the salads on the rice providing many layers of flavors to each bite. The curries were not over powering and the pork/chicken was tender. The traditional Sri Lankan watalappam dessert was very interesting. It reminded me of a leche flan with attitude(it is a coconut custard). It had texture! There was raisins and cashews inside as well as cloves and some other spices to give it an all around complex and satisfying taste. Lastly, the Lion lager beer was a fantastic pair with the lingering flavors of all the spices in your mouth. To put it simply, the beer was perfect for my dishes. Will come again.

A true 'home away from home' experience! As a first-timer here, I felt an instant sense of comfort. Enjoying authentic Sri Lankan food while listening to Sri Lankan music brought such a nostalgic and heartwarming vibe. The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly delicious. Excellent value for the price—highly recommended!

Very good food! They do not have an English menu but the waiter spoken enough English to be able to help us out with ordering. There is one parking spot in front of the building but otherwise you have to find your own parking. I thought the food was amazing. I got the chicken curry on the lunch menu.
